Strange Childhood

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.
— Shel Silverstein, “Put Something In”

Corey Brie is a Social Documentary Photographer living in Western North Carolina. She lives by a creek with her partner, three magical kids (one of them might be a witch), 2 dogs, 2 cats, 11 chickens, and whatever new slimy or furry friends the kids pocketed that day.  Originally from New Jersey (you can tell), she’s had a camera in her hand since she was five years old and started working with film in the dark room as a teenager.  She combines cinematic storytelling with photojournalism and favors kids and neurodivergent folks.  She’s currently working on too many little projects and building a friendship with the neighborhood crows. You can find me and more of my work on Instagram at @coreybriephoto.
