"The most fascinating part of creating a color themed photo essay is how choosing to notice a color completely changes how you see your life. A red thread runs throughout my motherhood story. It is present in Mickey Mouse pajamas, baseball stitching, and tomatoes and strawberries picked right off the vine. Christmas hats that bob starkly across snowy hills. Ski helmets breezing through the Colorado mountains. Red stripes on my skirt blew in the breeze at the Florida beaches in 2021. Shiny apple slices prepared by a 5-year-old after school one distant fall afternoon ago. A thimbleful of red is splashed onto my motherhood timeline, and I am a better mother for tasting and seeing."

Jennifer Floyd lives in the Minnesota woods with her husband and four children. She spends her days making photographs, telling visual stories, and creating resources that help families connect with beauty, faith, and one another. Between projects and being an Uber mom, she tends a garden, cooks for a crowd, and happily avoids folding laundry whenever possible.
